Korea's climate is regarded as a continental climate from a temperate standpoint and a monsoonal climate from a precipitation standpoint. The climate of Korea is characterized by four distinct seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter.

The currency unit is the Korean Won (KRW). Coins come in denominations of KRW 10, KRW 50, KRW 100 and KRW 500, and notes come in denominations of KRW 1,000, KRW 5,000 and KRW 10,000. The exchange rate is subject to fluctuations, but USD 1 is equivalent to about KRW 1,020 as of August, 2005. Foreign currency and Traveler's Checks can be converted into Korean Won at most banks in Korea. Credit cards are acceptable at most hotels, department stores and restaurant.

Most private businesses open from 09:00 hrs to 10:00 hrs but some are opened until late evening. Bank business hours are between 09:30 hrs and 16:30 hrs on weekdays and are closed on Saturday. |

The standard voltage is 220 volts, but outlets for 110 volts are available at most hotels. Always check the power supply before using your equipment. |

Participants are advised to take out adequate travel and health insurance before leaving their respective countries. The organizing Committee has no insurance coverage for the participants and will not be responsible for any accident that may occur during the Congress. |
